Die Bayerische Verwaltung der staatlichen Schlösser, Gärten und Seen, kurz Schlösserverwaltung, ist eine der traditionsreichsten Verwaltungen des Freistaates. Als Hofverwaltung der Kurfürsten und der Könige entstanden, ist sie heute einer der größten staatlichen Museumsträger in Deutschland. Dazu kommt noch ein ganz besonderes geschichtliches Erbe: die vielen prachtvollen Hofgärten, Schlossparks, Gartenanlagen und Seen.

A lot of interesting history here and worth taking time to explore it slowly. Most fascinating room is the painted world room, absolutely incredible and breathtaking, stretch your neck before going in as you will need to move it a lot to take it all in

There might be some truth to the Augustiner Chorherrenstift museum not being quite as overwhelming as the parlance but that is more or less what is to be expected. It is enjoyable to see the monastery and be in the spiritual presence of the fortress. The staff is a little less welcoming than the palace but not going to ruin your day or anything.

Fantastic, almost unreal place... Worth to stop and visit and listen the story about the Crazy Sun King... (the same one who built the NeuSchwanStein castle - the one visible on all Disney productions) :-)
