Wir, Ruud und Sandra, wohnen seit 2005 im Gutshaus von Schloss Möhren. Ruud ist der Besitzer der N-tronics GmbH. Sandra ist verantwortlich für die Vermietung der Ferienwohnungen auf dem Schloss. Zusammen kümmern wir uns um unsere drei Töchter Rose (2005), Sterre (2006) und Jasmijn (2011).
Das Schloss selbst wird bewohnt durch Ruuds Eltern (Wijk & Polly). Wijk hat eine private Sammlung (fast schon ein Museum) im Erdgeschoss des Schlosses. Polly ist die Kreative in unsere Familie, sie zeichnet, malt, fotografiert, wandert und genießt gerne die Ruhe.

We've had the perfect holiday at Schloss Mohren. The hosts are wonderful, the scenery is breathtaking and the accommodation is very, very nice.
We stayed at the schloss with our 2 boys during the autumn holidays. Long walks, collecting sticks and stones and do all the stuff young boys like to do such as visiting castles or going to the zoo...it's al possible.
The hosts make you feel very welcome. It's more like visiting old friends, we loved it. Sandra and Ruud, thank you very much for the wonderful stay at your enchanting medieval stronghold.

After a long drive from Groningen to the beautiful Schloss Möhren, we were warmly and enthusiastically greeted by the lady of the house, Sandra. She walked us around the grounds, told us where to find everything and showed us the very cozy house where we stayed that week. A small apartment, above the large gate that gives access to the castle with a view over the village. The apartment is fully equipped and we knew immediately that we would enjoy ourselves. (I mean, being greeted by a huge claw-foot bath immediately upon entering, I'm sold!)
There is much to see and do in the area, we have made beautiful walks and visited beautiful, old fortified towns and of course had a delicious meal and enjoyed the beer from local breweries.
We also got a tour of the old castle itself, which has almost become a small, historical museum due to the collectivity of the residents!
It is a wonderful place where you can relax, the hills and forests invite you to long walks and Sandra is a fantastic hostess. I will definitely come back.

Great b & b run by a nice Dutch family. They are super nice and the castle is very beautiful. Sleeping is very comfortable and the view is phenomenal. There is also a nice walnut tree where you can sit out of the sun and chat with the other people who are around there while any children are playing. There is also a very nice knight ritual for the kids where they can be beaten to knight or princess. The towns around it are small but fun to walk through and a short car ride will take you to nice, slightly touristic spots. Really worth where to go. We personally have been going there for a long time every year and we know the people there well and every time it is very pleasant.
